iPhone 15 (USB-C) & CalDigit Docks

On September 7th 2023 Apple introduced the iPhone 15 with USB-C, and CalDigit customers have been asking us if our docks are compatible.

The answer to that question is that all CalDigit Thunderbolt 4 and USB-C docks are compatible with the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max.

The TS4, Element Hub, SOHO Dock, USB-C Pro Dock, and USB-C HDMI Dock are capable of connecting an external monitor to the iPhone 15 with USB-C, as well as multiple USB accessories.

The TS3 Plus can only be used to charge the iPhone 15 via the USB-C port, and the Thunderbolt 3 Mini Docks are not compatible with iPhone 15 due to the PCIe controllers used in Thunderbolt 3 docks.

Check out the chart below to see what is possible when you connect your CalDigit dock to the iPhone 15 with USB-C.

*An external monitor can be supported from the dock’s Thunderbolt port (USB-C), DisplayPort, or HDMI port. A video adapter may be required, such as a USB-C to HDMI adapter.
**The AssistiveTouch feature must be enabled on the iPhone before the mouse can work through the dock.
***The TS4’s 2.5Gb Ethernet is a PCIe based Ethernet controller through Thunderbolt hence it is not supported by the USB-C iPhone. We suggest for you to use a regular USB-C to Ethernet adapter, and attach it to the TS4 so your iPhone can gain a network connection through dock and adapter.
****There are more USB devices that are compatible with the iPhone through CalDigit’s docks such as a USB hub, USB audio interface, USB to Ethernet, USB to SD card reader, and more.
*****Both the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus support USB 2.0 speeds only while the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max can support USB 3.0 10Gbps speeds.
